AFRINC has launched the 2017 round for FIRE Africa Grants and Awards. Find out more about the programme and how you can apply for funding.

Are you using the Internet to empower people and solve issues in your local community? Perhaps you’re building a community network to provide affordable and reliable access for you and your neighbours.

Maybe you’re building a mobile app that can help healthcare practitioners in rural areas access information about treatments for their patients. Or are you part of a team that trains high school girls to code and coaches them to pursue STEM courses at university?

Whatever part of the community your project empowers, the FIRE Africa Grants and Awards Programme 2017 could give your project the boost it needs to take it to the next level. With over US$ 35,000 in funding available this year, five initiatives using innovative ICT solutions to impact Africa’s social and economic development will be selected to receive two Grants and three Awards.

You’ll need to act soon to be in with a chance as the deadline for applications is fast approaching: Applications must be received by 1 August 2017.
