Founder member of ISOC Senegalese Chapter, and administrative contact of ccTLD .sn, act as an activist in the solutions and the awareness on internet issues in the sub-region. Participant of all major fora in internet development issues in africa, i'm very interested in the deployement of IpV6 technologies and platforms in the continent to contribute in finding best practices approach to rach somme critical issues on internet governance and improve the access and contribute to the technical skills of the technicians.

Mr Yakmut started his career after graduation as an Assistant Lecturer (Computer Science) at a Polytechnic, later move to the University of Jos, as System Programmer. He later became Head of training at the University Computer Centre. After this he was made responsible for the University e-mail services. In this responsibility he charted the development of the University Network and Internet infrastructure and content. He headed the Network department from 2000 – 2005, until he departed for graduate studies in South Africa. He has been actively involved in human capital development in the area of ICT especially in Network and Internet Technologies at local and national level. He setup the first Cisco Regional Networking Academy in a Nigerian University in 2002, which he coordinated until 2005. He has just returned from graduate studies and strongly involved in policy and management of ICT at the university. He has participated in AfNOG workshops and meeting for the past four years. The result of his participations at AfNOG has led to his involvement in organising NgNOG (Nigerian Network Operators
Group) in 2006, which was hosted by the University of Jos. He participated as facilitator/instructor. He is also involved with AfriNIC, his university is a registered member, and he was responsible for registering the University and has attended two of AfriNIC meetings.
He has also attended two ICANN meetings (November, 2001-Marina del Rey, USA and April, 2002- Accra, Ghana) as a member of the Non Commercial Domain Name Holders Constituency, as at then. During the meetings He was also engage in the formation of the At-Large group and also in the discussion for the formation of AfriICANN group. He also attended ccTLD meeting and training during ICANN meeting in Ghana in 2002. He is a member of ISOC International for over three years now. Nationally, he has contributed substantially to the development of network and Internet infrastructure in some Nigerian universities as a technical consultant.
He has attended several meetings for he running of the .ng domain and he is actively involved in the promoting the use of .ng by different organisations within Nigeria. It is based on the above that I feel Mr.
Yakmut can contribute to the growth and development of AfriNIC when he becomes a member of the board. I will therefore strongly recommend and nominate him to the board of AfriNIC.

1: Experience in global and national ICT policy development and advocacy issues; this was acquired though my work as a ccNSO Councillor at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the e-ThinkTankTz which is a network of professionals engaged in ICT policy development. This has also been through my interactions with activists in various ICT development networks.
2: Excellent people and project management skills through my engagements at senior management level which involved the development of working relationships with governments, international and local partners to achieve common objectives. Most of this was acquired through my engagement as a Training Co-ordinator of the Global Development Network (GDLN) by World Bank Institute and during my tenure as a site Manager of the African Virtual University project (AVU) which joined 12 sites in African with those located in other continents.
3: Organisational Capacity Development i.e. development of policy, strategic planning, annual operation/business plans and administrative procedures. This is my current focus as a consultant, and my most recent engagement in this area was with the West Africa Telecommunication Regulators Assembly (WATRA) where I provided services to the Executive Officer/Secretary.
4: I have acquired the knowledge and skills required in the development of management structures and systems, such as Performance and Appraisal Systems in the public sector; Institutional Transformation activities, including research, formulation of programme concepts and needs assessment have been part of my previous engagements in Africa.
5: My previous work with the AVU, ICANN and DGLN involved working online and face-to-face with colleagues in an international context whereby presentation skills using various computer applications and software were a necessity.
6: I have the flexibility and capacity to work independently if selected to serve in the Board: have equipped my private office with audio, video and data transmission facilities and have 24 hours access to the Internet through a reputable ISP. These facilities include office furniture, a 60GB Laptop, Webcam, digital camera, Scanner, Printer, Fax, Copier and 2 telephone lines.
7: I live and work from Abuja, Nigeria, as an Individual Consultant from where I have been pursuing the opportunities to provide my services to international organisations.

Pierre Dandjinou is a founding member of Afrinic. He was part of the transitional board and was elected as a member of the first elected board in Dakar, Senegal. He was also appointed Chairman of the board at that time. Since then, Pierre has been able to steer the organisation through the initial stages of its development and help to build a successful and stable organisation that Afrinic is today. I would like to nominate him so that he can continue the good work that he has already started.
