The Africa Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2013 starts today in Casablanca, Morocco. This three-day event starts with a one day training programme followed by a two-day forum that aims to address the key Interconnection opportunities and challenges that exist in the region. 

The theme for this year’s event is: Policy Implementation and the Regional Content Factor

AFRINIC is represented on panels at the Forum by Nishal Goburdhan, Senior Project Manager and Hisham Ibrahim, IPv6 Programme Manager.

Please note that all Mauritian Mobile numbers, ONLY will be migrating from 7 digits to 8 digits, effective from the 1st of September 2013.
This will not affect our landline numbers.

All Mauritian mobile numbers will now start with 5, followed by the number, as per the example below:

Existing mobile number 00 230 759 XXXX
As of Sunday 1st September:     00 230 5759 XXXX

AFRINIC and Internet Society in collaboration with France Telecom – Orange will organise webinars on IPv6 deployment targeting Internet operators and service providers.

The webinars will be carried out in English and French and aim to sensitise the operators and IP services providers on IPv6 adoption, which is key to securing Internet’s future and bringing innovation and improvement to telecommunication services.

This conference will help African Internet operators in defining and in setting up their IPv6 migration strategy through experiences sharing in management, engineering and operational best practices.
