Our goal is to conduct LIR and IPv6 training in every country of Africa by the end of 2010. We are planning to conduct a minimum of 14 training sessions designed to:

1. Increase awareness about the IP resources that are managed by AfriNIC.
2. ncrease awareness of IPv4 address exhaustion, the importance of  transitioning to IPv6.
3. uild competences required to deploy IPv6.

With your support and collaboration, we were able to conduct eight (8) training workshops in 2009. We are asking for your continued support in 2010 by hosting a 2-day training workshop in your area.

The requirements for hosting a workshop are:

1. At least 50% of the participants must be professionals. However, we also encourage student participation.

2. There must be at least ten (10) participants before we can organize a training session.

3. AfriNIC will cover the cost of the venue, tea break and lunch.

4. AfriNIC does not charge a fee to participants for the training sessions.

5. The host will secure the venue for the training.

6. The workshop must also be open to individuals outside of your organization.

7. AfriNIC requires the Local Host to provide certain essentials for the training session: Internet connectivity with IP Addresses (Bandwidth depends on # of participants and type of training); Network and wireless access in the training room; Video; Projector; White board; and, pens.

8. Local hosts are required to assist in facilitating visas for the trainers and locating adequate hotels.
