On 11 July 2017, a new KSK (Key Signing Key) is going to appear in the DNS root zone. This key labelled as KSK-2017 (key tag: 20326) will eventually replace KSK-2010 which has been the top-most pair of cryptographic keys used in the DNSSEC protocol since the Root Zone was signed in July 2010. It is the first time in history that ICANN is changing the Root Zone KSK as part of normal security best practices.
