Case Study: Development and dissemination of an Integrated Management System for Continuous Medical Education - Kenya

Project: Enhance the access and delivery of Continuous Medical Education (CME) material to doctors and improve monitoring and reporting of CME activities by the Medical Board. This, in-turn, gives the doctors more time with the patients, who ordinarily would not be seen because the doctors have to travel long distances to learn (which is a mandatory requirement for yearly re-licensing).

Nine FIRE Grant/Award winners are on their way to Pointe Noire, Congo to take part in the FIRE Africa Workshop on Business Development Knowledge & Skills (Part 2). Held during the AFRINIC-23 Meeting, taking place from 28 November-4 December, the workshop will equip the participants with knowledge about finance, accounting, corporate structures, funding sources and the financial reporting required for the FIRE Africa programme.

AFRINIC staff have already arrived in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo, and are busy setting up the AFRINIC-23 meeting network, double-checking logistics and putting the finishing touches to the meeting venue alongside our host, ARPCE. I'm looking forward to a packed week at AFRINIC-23, which begins on 28th November, when the African Internet community, together with interested people from outside of Africa, will convene to discuss key issues in African Internet development, attend technical workshops and tutorials, and discuss regional and global Internet policy development matters.
