The AFRINIC Fellowship Programme brings emerging leaders from across the service region to AFRINIC public policy meetings. Calls for applications are announced ahead of each meeting.
This initiative is tailored to support emerging voices in Africa’s Internet ecosystem by providing meaningful exposure to policy, technology, and stakeholder engagement at a continental level.
Programme Overview
The fellowship offers selected participants the opportunity to attend and actively engage in AFRINIC-37, including the Public Policy Meeting and the Annual General Members’ Meeting (AGMM). It is designed to foster learning, collaboration, and participation in discussions that shape the future of Internet development in the region.
What You Will Gain
- Develop a practical understanding of the Internet number resource policy process
- Interact with a wide network of experts, including technical specialists, regulators, academics, and industry leaders
- Participate in technical sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms
- Contribute perspectives from your local context to regional conversations
Eligibility Criteria
- Be residents of an African country.
- Be engaged in, or have a demonstrated interest in, the Internet ecosystem.
- Not necessarily be an AFRINIC member.
- Commit to submitting a post-event report highlighting the impact of the fellowship.
Fellowship Support
- Return airfare to attend AFRINIC-37.
- Hotel accommodation for the duration of the event (Bed & Breakfast).
- Stipend
- Travel Insurance
Beyond the Fellowship
Participants join a growing network of AFRINIC alumni who continue to play active roles in strengthening the Internet landscape across Africa. Many past fellows remain engaged in both technical and policy spaces, contributing to ongoing regional and global discussions.
